We were two students at Southampton University with a question. How do we make student accommodation highly desirable and different? We were brimming with ideas. We just needed to buy a house and see if we could make it happen.
Saving every penny at a time when houses were less expensive, June 1993 saw the purchase of the first Posh Pad. Close to the university, it was unlovely but with potential. We set to, implementing our ideas, and before long everyone wanted to live in it.
One house became two, two became four and Posh Pads as a concept came to life. Each house was treated to the constantly evolving Posh Pads implementation of style, comfort and practicality. Gradually a distinctive but evolving signature formed.
Creating lovely houses was one thing, but then the real work started. Houses and tenants need looking after; our next challenge was to work out how to provide the best focus and service out there. So we went on the hunt for people who really care about what they do.
In 2005 we opened the Posh Pads office at 51 Bedford Place, a beautiful building in the centre of Southampton. We assembled an office team who bought into our philosophy of service and style and providing the best accommodation possible.
For over 30 years Posh Pads has helped make great memories for thousands of students. Former tenants may not remember the exact address of the house they lived in but they always remember that they lived in a Posh Pad.
Every day we seek to maintain our role as curators of the ultimate student living experience - taking the grind out of student living, picking up the mundane bits so all our tenants can enjoy the living bit, knowing they can rely on us and that things will get looked after.
There is a saying that you can't keep everyone happy all of the time. We'll always try to see if we can!
